The primary objective of the „Green-14” Association is to promote nature conservation, sustainable landscape management and environmental awareness by launching local actions, improving the environment, thereby improving the quality of life.

To this end, we carry out our public service activities in two priority areas:

About us

The main objective of the association is to preserve the ecological stability of the Békés-Bihor (Romania) Euroregion biogeographical unit, which is a sensitive and fragile ecosystem, and to integrate the population, the environment and the economy into a single system, where the natural-environmental values have priority, based on the principle of sustainability.

Founded in 2008, the organisation's main objective is to improve the environmental status of the region and the quality of life of its inhabitants by promoting sustainable development. The Association's main target groups are the inhabitants of the region. To this end, the Association is engaged in a comprehensive and continuous renewal of information and promotion methods for sustainable lifestyles, environmental protection, nature conservation, quality of life, ecological farming and land development.

The organisation aims to achieve its objectives by: advocacy; running a front-office advisory office; holding open forums and conferences; promoting the results of scientific research; organising exhibitions; participating in decision-making processes; organising awareness-raising programmes; promoting public access to environmental information; participating in the monitoring system; dissemination activities; major projects (e.g. projects (e.g. wastewater investments, urban regeneration, M-44 motorway, railway development). In the field of environmental protection, the Association is particularly keen to increase opportunities for public participation, to strengthen public awareness and direct democracy, and to create the widest possible freedom of information and information provision.

The organisation Békéscsaba City of County Legislation urban development and environmental planning an active participant in its processes: its expert members regularly take part in public forums, and it has been a designated cooperation and consultation partner for the county integrated urban development programme and is currently an invited partner in the ongoing environmental aspects of rehabilitation investments and its impact on the public. The Association is a member of Association of Civil Organisations of Békés County, the local LEADER action group, the Körösök Völgye Rural Development Association, a Local Development Strategies an active participant in the planning and founding member of the Békés County Climate Platform.

Dr. Balázs Duray Geographer, landscape ecologyst and Associate Professor of the Szeged University

Specialist in Landscape Conservation (SZTJV) and Geological Natural Values and Cave Values (SZTV), and Urban Climate Adaptation Specialist (CLIM-CAP).

22 years of research experience. 19 research projects (9 theme-led, 8 international); 60 scientific conference presentations. Author of 55 scientific publications, pioneer of landscape change modelling in Hungary. 16 years of experience as university lecturer, teaching a total of 20 subjects

Regular environmental and nature conservation consultancy; invited speaker for urban and civic environmental awareness campaigns.

As a planner, he is an expert in environmental and sustainability work packages for spatial, urban and rural development programmes. He is currently involved in the development of municipal and regional climate strategies and the development of a green infrastructure network in the central and border region of BiH.

As a civilian, he is currently the President of the Association and the Professional Director of the Green Dot (front-office) Office, and in August 2019 he was one of the founding members of the Sixty Thousand Trees Association.
